Through NEET UG 2026, candidates can seek admission into:
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)
- BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
- BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
- BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

NEET UG 2026 Registration — Key Updates
Registration Extended to March 11
The original deadline for NEET UG 2026 registration was March 8, 2026. However, NTA officially extended this to March 11, 2026 at 9:00 PM after candidates raised concerns about technical difficulties on the portal and requested more time.
Total Registrations
As of March 10, 2026, over 22 lakh candidates had already registered. With the extended deadline, the final registration count is expected to cross 23 to 24 lakh, potentially breaking the previous year’s record.
New in 2026: Aadhaar-Based eKYC
One of the most significant changes introduced in NEET UG 2026 compared to previous years is Aadhaar-based eKYC for identity verification. This is a new security layer added by NTA to prevent impersonation and duplication.
What this means for you:
- Your name, date of birth, and gender on school records must match your Aadhaar card exactly.
- Any mismatch during eKYC will lead to rejection of your application.
- If you did not have an Aadhaar, you could use an alternate government-issued ID, but Aadhaar verification was strongly recommended.
Application Fee Structure
| Category | Application Fee |
|---|---|
| General / NRI | ₹1,700 |
| General-EWS / OBC-NCL | ₹1,600 |
| SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender | ₹1,000 |
| Exam Centre Outside India | ₹9,500 |
Payment modes accepted: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI.

Preparation Tips for NEET UG 2026 — Last 47 Days
With the exam on May 3, you have less than 7 weeks left. Here is how to make the most of this time:
1. Stop Adding New Topics
With limited time remaining, adding new chapters will only create confusion. Stick to what you already know and revise it deeply.
2. Biology Is Your Best Friend
Biology accounts for 50% of the paper (360 out of 720 marks). NCERT Biology for Class 11 and 12 should be read at least 2 to 3 more times before the exam.
3. Solve Previous Year Papers Daily
The last 10 years of NEET question papers are your best practice material. Solving them daily improves both accuracy and time management.
4. Work on Your Weak Chapters in Physics
Physics is where most students lose marks. Focus on high-weightage chapters — Mechanics, Optics, Modern Physics, and Electrostatics.
5. Take Full Mock Tests Every Weekend
Simulate actual exam conditions — 180 questions, 3 hours, no phone. Analyse your performance honestly after every mock test.
6. Sleep Well and Eat Right
Don’t sacrifice sleep for extra study hours in these final weeks. A well-rested brain retains information far better than an exhausted one.
